The wavestation's interface isn't very conventional but it excels at evolving pads and sequenced loops. I'm glad I got them as they add new sounds that aren't my usual va and analog. The M1 is super basic and simple, but it's fun to dial in some kind of rompler patch like a choir, then add effects or resample it. To me the M1 is worth it to have all the old school pcm style waves. Sure you could use kontakt for better quality samples, but there's some magic and history in the korg stuff.I think the analog side of the legacy line is less interesting.

You'll be disappointed if you expect them to sound like the actual ms20, polysix, or mp. They are fun if you just think of them as software synths with the same features, but not as emulations unfortunately.Edit: I should add the wavestation also has tons of recognizable classic samples and waves. One set is from the sci prophet vs. I love the M/P vst, really the only vst I use besides the ms-20 one. And I have the controller. It really works best with the ms20 vst.

Knobs are cheap, but they are designed, i think, so there's more than 127 steps of each knob (maybe by using 2 cc's per knob, but i'm not positive). That way you avoid the stepping usually associated with midi controllers. Big bang the real concert dvd download. The keybed suck balls, however.

THey are far to thin for my tastes, but I'm not much of a keyboardist. Typically I'll run a sequence to the vst and twiddle away with joy at those controller knobs.

I bought them for the M1 and stayed for the polysix, man does it sound good and I have some sweet hardware. I think all have something to offer. It's nice to have the M1 piano and organ for some house tunes without having to get the M1 because I really don't like it for anything else except those iconic sounds. That said I often use the polysix bass over my voyager for bass sounds. Also some surprisingly good stuff out of the mono/poly too. I have the MS20 and don't think the emulation is that good. In fact I matched the patching from the software to the hardware and it wasn't close to the same but it doesn't sound bad just not exactly like the the MS20.
